German Speed Kitesurfing Champ
Kiteboarding I started professionally in 2007 and I absolutely love it. I am proud of my German Speed Kitesurfing record which is at the same time the Outright Speed Sailing Record for Germany - the record of all classes and sails. I grew up at the northern boarder of the Alps and as a kid and teen I have been skiing every day for half of the year - and now I do the similar thing on the water. At Kitekahunas I concentrate on our teaching methodology, the sports psychology side of teaching kitesurfing in Cape Town, and students and instructors can share in my experience as a speed kitesurfing champ.
Very high jumps with board grabs. Raileys. Unhooked rotation jumps.
S-Bend and other unhooked tricks and carving waves.
My absolute favourite kitesurfing spot is Sunset Beach, Cape Town. Not because it is directly on our doorstep of Kitekahunas, but because it has the best wind in Cape Town - and with this it is therefore the best wind in the world from October till April, but also the most constant and clean waves and flat water in between.
There are very few sports that I have not done in my life. I enjoyed most mountain hiking, scuba diving and skiing, but now kiteboarding is the definite crown.

In 2005 with 2003 equipment :)
Going high and do some high kiteloops. I also really enjoy slashing into the waves.
On flatwater it’s unhooked tricks; in waves I love to take them more extreme - the bigger the wave the better.
Every spot where I had a good session and where I could share it with new and old friends.
Paragliding, speedflying, snowboard, ski, snowkiting, tennis and piano.

In June 2008 I started kitesurfing. When I finished my kitesurfing course my life changed rapidly – I drove to the beach every weekend and got to know so many nice people that I decided to move closer to the sea. By now the sport plays a major role in my life and I can not imagine being not close to the beach and go kiting!
My favorite trick right now is an unhooked kiteloop or unhooked railey. Unfortunately I do that only when there are perfect conditions. I also love jumps and backrolls with grab.
I am not very good in high jumps, so I constantly try to improve that J In flat water I am working on surfer’s pass and do more unhooked tricks like F16, indie glide etc
There are lots of beautiful places I love to go kitesurfing. My Top Three would be Fehmarn (Germany), Loissin near Greifswald (Germany) and Sankt Peter Ording Böhl with its tidal creeks. Most important for me is always that I kite with nice people I know, so the spot becomes less important for me to have a great kitesession!
I studied sport science – so I am into nearly every kind of sport! I love the things you can do outside most: Jogging, Slackline, Longboarding, Beachvolleyball, Travelling.

In 2011 during my internship with Kitekahunas!
At some point I would like to be able to do small jumps and board grabs, but for the beginning I would be happy to manage a water start.
I am working on the basics.
Langebaan – a lagoon north of Cape Town.
I am a passionate DJ and music producer and I like to work out at the gym. Occasionally I play Tennis.

I started Kitesurfing in 2008. Since then I am an addict to this sport and go out onto the water whenever there is wind and in Cape Town there is enough of it.
I really enjoy waveriding in big waves but BIG jumps get my heart pumping real fast.
I want to get my waveriding up to scratch.
When Big Bay in Cape Town is not too crowded, I njoy beeing out on the water having fun and training until the sun sets.
I have been playing InLine Hockey for 14 years and now I play IceHockey in Cape Town. Other than that I still do MuayThai and play an occasional game of Golf.

Years of kiting – 4 and a half years in the Virgin Islands and the last two in various spots around the world.
Years of teaching – 3 years in such places as Peru, Costa Rica and Greece.
Trying to jump as high as I can, maybe with a kiteloop and riding strapless in the waves.
Jumping strapless
Peru, but Cape Town has moved to the top of my list.
There is something besides kiting?!? I would have to say travelling then.
