Team Kitekahunas enjoying the great sea views at the top of the Kitekahunas Beach House, located directly on Sunset Beach, Cape Town. The wind here is best and legendary, probably stronger and more reliable than anywhere else in the world during our season October till the beginning of April. Perfect for kitesurfing in Cape Town.

Mika, one of our kitesurfing instructors enjoying some flat water to train some new tricks.

Andi is happy, he is one of our advanced kitesurfing instructors and helps you to advance your kitesurfing skill in a safe way.

Kiteboarding I started in 2007 and I absolutely love it. I spend lots of time on the water. I grew up at the northern boarder of the Alps, and as a kid and teen I have been skiing every day for half of the year - and now I do the similar thing on the water. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I concentrate on the sports psychology side of teaching kitesurfing in Cape Town.
I almost don't dare to say: My favourite tricks are still very high jumps with board grabs.
Raileys and other unhooked tricks and carving waves.
My absolute favourite kitesurfing spot is Sunset Beach, Cape Town. Not because it is directly on our doorstep of Kitekahunas, but because it has the best wind in Cape Town - and with this it is therefore the best wind in the world from October till April, but also the most constant and clean waves and flat water in between.
There are very few sports that I have not done in my life. I enjoyed most mountain hiking, scuba diving and skiing, but now kiteboarding is the definite crown.

Kiteboarding I started in 2006 in Brasil. I was looking for something in between Wakeboarding and Sailing. Since then, I spend a lot of time in the water. I grew up in Florian—polis (Brasil). The condition there for kitesurfing are really good. Teaching has always been a passion of mine.
I enjoy flying the kite low at 45¡ and do some quick moves.
Carving the waves
My favorite spot is in Ocracoke. The wind is strong and the waves are good.
I enjoy Mountain biking and sailing .

My first contact with kitesurfing was in Workum, Neatherlands in 2005. I liked it right away, but it was first in 2008 I really started and spend each free moment on the water. I like to share my passion for kitesurfing with others thats why I became an instructor.
My favourite trick at the moment is unhooked kiteloops, where you really feel the power of the kite.
For me it is all about what kind of conditions i'm in. In stronger wind, oldschool style, at the moment I am working on a frontrole boardoff. In less wind, s-bend downloop.
Tarifa with strong Poniente (seebreeze) and Cape Town.
Most of the time there are not many other options around, but I like to snowboard and wakeboard.

Marketing Intern Kitekahunas
Since I was young, I’ve been visiting with my family the boat show in Düsseldorf, but last year kitesurfing caught my attention. From that moment on I was fascinated by this sport and did shortly later with my friends a one-week course in the Netherlands. Now I’m really looking forward to the time as an intern with Kitekahunas in which I can improve my kitesurfing skills.
I still have to learn tricks.
First jumps
Cape Town
I love skiing, climbing, motor biking, parkour and stuff like that...but I also enjoy Golf, playing the piano, learning languages and traveling around the world.

Years of kiting – 4 and a half years in the Virgin Islands and the last two in various spots around the world.
Years of teaching – 3 years in such places as Peru, Costa Rica and Greece.
Trying to jump as high as I can, maybe with a kiteloop and riding strapless in the waves.
Jumping strapless
Peru, but Cape Town has moved to the top of my list.
There is something besides kiting?!? I would have to say travelling then.

4 years ago I started kitesurfing with one lesson in Holland the first lesson I learned riding on the board. A year later I started practising with my own kite and never stopped…
Years of teaching-Since two years I’m an outdoor instructor at different activities (like: kite flying on the beach, climb abseil, canoe, challenged parcours, teambuilding, etc.) This year I did the IKO course and since then I’m teaching kitesurfing more and more.
I still have to learn my favourite trick.
Riding in the high waves of South Africa. And thinking about doing my backrolls and frontrolls more often…
My favourite kitespot is in Holland, Wijk aan Zee. But the spots in Cape Town are becoming closer and closer to number one… …
Next to kitesurfing I have some other NO wind sport/hobby options that I like to do, snowboarding, snowkiting, wakeboarding, windsurfing, wavesurfing, swimming. And for already 9 years I play soccer.
